Pickleback (and the Randolph Handshake)

It seems pickle juice is all the rave in New York.  I have a feeling it will be a short-lived fad, so enjoy it while it lasts.

The Pickleback is simply a shot of whiskey, followed by a half-shot of pickle brine.  It’s the only chaser that needs its own chaser, so a can of PBR is in order to reward yourself for keeping the first two down.  This was introduced to me at the Randolph near/in NYC’s Chinatown as “The Randolph Handshake.”

Pickle brine, is actually a great source of hydration, chocked full of electrolytes, so it could, in theory (and for legal reasons I write this only for entertainment purposes, plus I’ve never had a hangover so how the hell should I know?) help prevent the pain of a morning after a long night.

  1. I’m sorry, but this title just sounds like something you can order in a rest stop men’s bathroom.
I would’ve said Power Exchange, but you know, * RIP *
